My Husband has been telling my daughter bedtime stories with a Twinkle Star and Rainbow Pony. So my daughter has been bugging me to make Twinkle Star. I decided to quit putting it off and make it. I have just been sooooooo busy lately. I plan on making her an Orange one for Yule. (her favorite color is Orange) Well here it is in all the Twinkle glory. I might put a face on it later if she wants one. I was thinking of the Mario Star the whole time haha I wonder if she would let me put eyes on…

Super Mario Invincibility Star crochet pattern
I used worsted weight yarn with a 3.5mm hook. Just make sure you're using a smaller hook than the yarn label recommends, and you should be ok. Trust me, the star looks better without bits of fiberfill poking through ;) You don't have to join rounds, working in a spiral works just as well. I wrote this pattern when I was still very much new to crochet, and chose to join rounds because I thought it would make it easier to get the eyes to line up after. I've made a couple of stars recently…

Star baby blanket
My friend, Ally, had her 3rd precious baby boy last week. As I mentioned in my earlier posts, I've started making a blanket for my little boy, but I decided to add to the squares I'd already done to make a baby blanket for Ally's new baby. I used a pattern from Issue 25 of The Art of Crochet .It was pretty easy to make. I'm surprised at how simple crochet is! Most patterns only consist of a handful of the same stitches, just in different combinations. I wish I had retaught myself how to do…

Stardust Popcorn Motif Bedspread Crochet Pattern
This is a reproduction of a vintage pattern to crochet a twin, queen or king size bedspread in an open delicate design. Blocks worked in popcorn stitch with star centre and mesh scalloped edging give an open look. Lay over a similar or contrasting color spread. Motif measures 8 1/2 inches across corners
Star Doily - One motif is repeated seven times and joined to make this shaped doily. By varying the size of thread and crochet hook the doily may be made larger or smaller. This would make a beautiful bedspread by using bedspread cotton.
Star Crochet Blanket
I've finally finished my star crochet blanket! I used this Empire Superwash Merino 8 ply yarn in five colours - Glass, Orchid Smoke, Luxe, Kingfisher and then the variegated ball called Irises. It is all 100% Australian Merino to make the star granny squares.
