Stampscapes Old Mill

Well, since I had my mind on inchies, I decided to see if I could get some good little scenes out of my Stampscapes stamps and put them on an artist trading card. It's amazing that you can find a nice little 1" scene in these big stamps. The background is a glossy black cardstock. So fun!

My blog is dedicated to paper crafting with emphasis on designing with die cuts, punches, rubber stamping, watercolor, creating scenes with paper craft products, and creating paper flowers, paper wreaths, snowy scenes and with many tutorials with step by step photos and instructions.

Took a Stampscapes class with a couple of my friends and these were my first attempts at building and coloring the scenes. Used coated paper, stamped the scenes with Stazon and then used dye inks from Stampin'up to color them.

I hadn't inked up this Stampscapes Snowy Covered Bridge yet and wanted to use it. All the stamping was done with Archival Watering Can ink, which is a great grey, perfect for a winter scene and softer than the black ink that I often stamp my scenes with. I coloured the scene lightly with lilac and grey dye inks, as usual starting with the lightest shades and building up somewhat darker colours. Highlights were added with a white gel pen and just a tiny bit if mist by dry-brushing white…
