Using rope to incorporate textile techniques at a magnified scale, the Loom Chair, created by Laura Carwardine, combines the use of soft and hard materials frequently used in factory production. The seat and back support for this lounge chair are created from one continuous piece of orange rope, wrapped over a wooden dowel rod structure, as you would see in a traditional cloth loom. (5)
