An almost pure-white African Amanita (Agaricales, Basidiomycota, Fungi) with loose pyramidal patches of velum on the cap. Amanita afrospinosa is a large species (10-20 cm cap diameter), but several other large white Amanita do occur in the miombo forests (DR Congo, Katanga, Kafubu, 7 December 2012, ref. ADK5343).
