Bedford pattern by Michele Wang
A comely sweatshirt to reach for over and over again, Bedford remains effortlessly sophisticated when lounging at home and wears comfortably cozy on an adventurous day out. Columns of mock cables grow out of the ribbed hem for allover texture that reads well in any hue, while reverse stockinette sleeves serve as a subtler visual and tactile counterpoint. Worked circularly from the bottom up with raglan shoulder shaping, Bedford is a breeze to knit as it is to wear.
A timeless cabled pullover in Shelter is distinguished by bold staghorn cables and a flowing combination of raglan and saddle shoulder shaping. Cordova is designed to be roomy and is worked without waist shaping, but thoughtful placement of the large cable motifs on a ground of trinity stitch creates a flattering line. The pullover is worked flat with slipped garter selvedges and all stitch motifs are charted. Designer: Michele Wang Collection: Winter 2015
Friday Ideas for March for Science Hats!
The date is set for the March for Science - Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017! The main March is in Washington, DC and there will be many sister marches in large cities around the country. Check March for Science for new updates and to volunteer. Join the Facebook page at the same name. To find your local march search Facebook with "March for Science" and then add the nearest city like Denver or Colorado Springs like I did. More on that in my personal thoughts blog- Yes, I am "Marching"…
The saddle shoulder gets a polished, modern treatment to create an effortless pullover for work or play. Crisp garter ridges at the hem and shoulders and a vintage-inspired scoop neck invite button-down pairings but keep casual outfits sweetly feminine, too. The fit is contemporary—an easy silhouette with slim sleeves—and the details knitterly, as short rows shape the curved back hem and the work is done entirely in the round.
