6 simple spelling lists (one for each vowel, but i has 2 lists) Each list is on cards that have a matching picture. The words have different final consonants, but some are in the same word family. The students cut apart the cards and match the word with the picture. They are blending to figure out the word and then segmenting to spell the word. Very direct instructions on the page for parents. Comes with a spelling test page (1/2 sheets to conserve paper) - print back to back. Each spelling test page has a picture to help the students while writing their word, but anyone can give the test (teacher, aid, volunteer) because they just need to read the picture to give the word. Also comes with blank spelling test papers if you don't want picture ques. Simple and non-confusing which works great for teacher and parents. I print my cards on cardstock to have the students practice with me or the aid first. Then I send a regular copy home with the students to cut and practice with.
