Louis XIV, also known as "The Sun King" or Louis the Great, had taken the city, fortress and the citadel of Namur in 1692. Three years later, Allied troops conquer the city under the command of the British King William III and Elector Maximilian II Emanuel. This silver medal reminds us of the battle of Namur.
