Antique French statue of Virgin Mary of Lourdes and Saint Bernadette. Manufactured between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Made of plaster and hand painted. The figure represents the scene from the year 1858 when the Virgin Mary appeared to a 14-year-old peasant woman named Bernadette Soubirous in a kind of rocky grotto. The figure was found in a house in a town in Girona (Spain) built in 1886. On the back of the figure is written in French "Rosario palace. Lourdes". I understand that it is the name of the souvenir shop that is operating until now in the Sanctuary of Lourdes (France).
