Ranger 3 - According to a 19 year old girl, hanging out with some friends in a gas station in Lafayette, CO in 1990, Ranger 3 was blown to smithereens by a UFO travelling 40,000 mph. I'm pretty sure it's credible, because she got it from a former JPL flight controller who she meet in the gas station.
Curiosity Approaching Mars: The Curiosity rover is safely tucked inside the spacecraft's aeroshell. The mission's approach phase begins 45 minutes before the spacecraft enters the Martian atmosphere. It lasts until the spacecraft enters the atmosphere.
Radioactive Core of a Dead Star: NASA's NuSTAR has, for the first time, imaged the radioactive 'guts' of a supernova remnant, the leftover remains of a star that exploded. The NuSTAR data are blue, and show high-energy X-rays.
