The PSWR began operations April 1, 2003 as Watco’s first shortline railroad east of the Mississippi. The PSWR is also the company’s first operation serving a steel mill. Twelve mainline miles of track make up the shortline, primarily serving Allegheny Ludlum in Midland, Pa. The PSWR interchanges with the Norfolk Southern Railroad and mainly handles steel scrap and steel products.
