Black Mondo Grass - Sun or deep shade - evergreen - water tolerant - slow growing! A wonderful accent plant, showing up well against pavers or stones or lighter plants. With time, and in rich, moisture-retentive soil, it forms a thick groundcover.
Every spring, I pull out all the stops when it comes to planting the big pot beside my front door. I usually pick a color theme and proceed to cram in all kinds of foliage and flowers that fit the theme. This year I stuffed it full of silvers and purples, including Helichrysum petiolare, heliotrope, Strobilanthes dyerianus (Persian shield), cineraria, lamium, salvia, Plectranthus argentatus, nemesia and more!
