Burg Rheinstein im Landkreis Mainz-Bingen

Castle on the Rhine River. We stayed here on our honeymoon 30 years ago. It had converted a few rooms into guest rooms and there is a fabulous museum and restaurant inside, also.

It is one of the most important examples of romantic castle reconstruction. As a masterpiece of the architect Johann Claudius of Lassaulx the castle was built in the beginning of the Century.

this has a parking lot near the castle.no walking long distances. Or you can take a small train from town up to the castle. Beautiful views from the castle over the Rhine River.
