AP A rhino named Ratu is seen with her newborn calf at Way Kambas National Park in Lampung, Indonesia. Ratu, an endangered Sumatran rhinoceros, gave birth on Saturday. It is only the fifth known birth in captivity for the species in 123 years.
The saiga antelope has a proboscis-like mouth, giving the impression of an anteater, that actually works as a sort of air filtration system. These hardy guys have been around since the Ice Age but are on the brink of extinction.
