Commode by Vanrisamburgh, Bernard II, ca. Serpentine commode mounted with Japanese lacquer and chased gilt bronze, with slab of black and 'gold' Portoro Macchie Larga marble.

1772 French Black lacquer corner cabinet at the Royal Collection, UK - This cabinet was designed to fit into the corner of a room, as evidenced by its having three feet rather than four; the entire cabinet would have the shape of a curved triangle.  The Japanese lacquer panel on the front dates from the 1640s and was split in half and then incorporated into the design when this cabinet was made along with its partner (which holds the other half of the lacquer panel).
