Steel and glass staircase in a octagonal drum appears suspended with minimal central support-Dornob design by Takeshi Hirobe Architects

Vancouver house by Canadian studio Splyce Design features a lopsided roof that follows the line of the staircase. Stairs between the three floors are at the north-facing front of the house, which is the darkest part of the building. Open stair treads, glass balustrades and a rooflight at the top of the stairwell have been added to increase the flow of natural light here.

Origami Stair by Bell Phillips architects

Origami Stair by Bell Phillips is made of folded stainless steel and framed with a glass balustrade. Very modern. Love the metal and glass contrast. It allows lots of light through, whilst still being strong structurally.
