Snail Graffiti - There is a graffiti artist from London that paints on the shells of snails! I read that when snail shells are painted they are less likely to become victims of children (and others) that might otherwise crush them!

You can dip snails in non-toxic, water based paints and have them "paint" for you. Not sure how to scale this up or pull this off in an urban environment but it's an interesting thought/potential technique.

This creepy-crawly craft is explained at Filthy Wizardry. The kids dipped the snails from our back yard in the food colouring and put them down on the paper. After the initial shock the snails began to move about the paper and create art for us.
