Sumerian Dress (3500-2500 BC) Men and female wore sheepskin skirts or dresses with the skin turned inside and the wool combed into decorative tufts. These warped around and were pinned in place. They extended from the waist to the knees or, for more important people, to the ankles. The upper part of the torso was at times bare, or clothed by another sheepskin cloaking the shoulders.
