I am currently in a job that I make below the poverty line. I am full time and I have a 4 year degree

America is so fucking disgusting. It's just old white people who will never have enough money. I hate living here, it's sick. So sick.

This needs to be read a over and over, to be sure you get ALL of the points made here.

Why no unicorns…

minimum wage should absolutely be raised. i'm 17 and i make more money than most people working with the minimum wage bc i get paid above it. if every workplace paid as well as mine does, full-time adult workers would be getting the pay they need.

There is no 'Wage Gap'. Men, on average, make more money than their female counterparts. <<That's literally the definition of wage gap, you absolute walnut.~~~wtf what did you think a wage gap was?

Minimum wage, living wage. Wehy do you think they deserve to starve to death, be homeless, or never go to school and better themselves. Cause that's what's not getting a living wage means.

It's really very easy to understand. CEOs are paid by private corporations and their salaries are freely given to them by the owners/shareholders based on their perceived worth. It's not anyone else's business. Minimum wage workers are also paid on their worth (although it's already controlled by the gov't). This doesn't mean they don;t work hard, it just means their labor isn't particularly valuable. Their value as a human being is not calculated into the equation.

Since consumer spending is of the economy, raising the minimum wage helps everyone, even the because people can afford to buy more of what they are selling.

*points frantically to this and many other sociological and political studies about Finland when people begin FB wars*

Finland has achieved the lowest child poverty in the world through a mix of family-friendly policies that balance work and life <-- Do they speak English, because this sounds like a great place to raise kids?

Workers of Henry Ford costuming: 99 years ago, Henry Ford announced a minimum wage of $5 for employees. It shocked many, since the standard wage at the time for factory workers was about half that, but it helped Ford decrease turnover and increase morale.

In I added a motorized assembly line into the plan. This reduced the time, cost, and accuracy of producing cars.

This is heart breaking for so many. If this is you (or someone you know), please share their name with me. I like to support where possible and help where I can. Doing what I do can mean the difference of a few extra bucks to cover groceries or it can mean (to some) a new 6 figure income (if nothing else, its nutritious food at a cost that offsets your grocery bill). As a biz, It's hard word, dedication, passion and most of all it needs a massive WHY to keep you inspired. This is my W

Businesses are corporations who are allowed to ship American jobs to other countries by the thousands so in America the same corporation can spend less and the worker expects less because GOOD JOBS are scarce and competitors for the same job are many.

This is not something to pin on a funny board. Seriously...think about it. Ridiculous. "Animal Labor"...sure. Don't overwork the cows by any means. STUPID.

Vegans: "I like cows and bees more than the immigrants who pick the vegetables I eat." It's a decent point.

Not to mention minimum wage jobs make up a bigger portion of the economy and a record number of college degree holders are having no choice but to work minimum wage.

That we even need to regulate a 'minimum wage' is only more evidence that we live in a society built upon systematic inequality. You know, rather than give everyone fair and affordable opportunities.
