Clay Regazzoni may have never won a championship title in Formula but he is still considered to be one of the legends of the sport.

Gianclaudio Giuseppe "Clay" Regazzoni competed in Formula One races from 1970 to 1980, winning five Grands Prix.  He crashed during the 1980 United States Grand Prix West at Long Beach ending his competitive career. Regazzoni won back his racing licence and became one of the first disabled drivers to participate in high-level motor sports.  In 2006 he was killed in a collision with a lorry on a motorway near Parma, Italy.
