Heretic's Evil Cousin - This one was a very nice example of a really hop forward DIPA. The hops really took front and center here. The good thing is that the hops had a great complex profile that was really nice from start to end with some good bitterness throughout. The beer did not feel quite balanced as the hops kinda took over, but I really liked a bold DIPA sometimes.
Lagunitas' Sucks Holiday Ale - Beyond the fact that the name and situation leading up to this beer were hilarious, the beer itself is just fantastic. The hop flavor is so strong from start to end and has some great bitterness tagging along. There is enough malt flavor and body to really balance things out and the result is a fine DIPA that really helps in coping with the absence of Brown Shugga’.
Lagunitas' Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale - This is a nice example of what I like about American Strong Ales. I like how they are commonly really big and bold with lots of hops, but a richer and maltier backbone then their hoppy DIPA brethren. This one hits pretty close to the mark with a good hop profile and good all around balance.
Okland Brewing Company's Sticky Zipper - This one really lived up to the quality that I have learned to expect from Oakland Brewing Company, and it was even better that I was able to take it home with me to enjoy. It was had a good strong hop profile and bitterness but was very well balanced by the malt and body. I really cannot wait to try some more from one of my favorite new Bay Area Breweries.
Festina Pêche (Dogfish Head Craft Brewery)
Short's Spruce Pilsner - This is a really great beer. The big hoppy pilsner is quickly becoming a favorite style of mine as the combination of the smoothness and crispness of a good pilsner with a nice fistful of hops makes for a great beer.
Heretic's Shallow Grave - There is a reason Jamil was so confident in this brew, and it is because it is really spot on. Everything tastes and feel perfectly balanced from the roasted chocolate malts, to the coffee, and even the body. This is really a textbook example of everything a Porter should be.
Samuel Adams Noble Pils by Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams) Light golden yellow, thick fluffy head. Honey sweetness balanced with citrus and pine. Crisp and dry. An excellent pils!
Port Brewing's Shark Attack - After not being overly impressed with the Panzer…
Alpine's Captain Stout - This is one of the best examples of a stout with some nice strong flavors that does not get you bogged down and drunk too quickly (only 6% abv). I really like the balance of roasted and sweet flavors with the coffee and chocolate flavors. I could definitely see the Bourbon version of this being awesome.
JOHN - Fursty Ferret from ASDA and all other supermarkets)
Wolters Schwarzer Herzog - Nicht Schwarz ärgern, lieber Schwarz trinken! Die vollmundige Schwarzbierspezialität aus dem Hofbrauhaus Wolters: Die richtige Erfrischung für alle jüngeren und jung gebliebenen Bierfreunde.

Dogfish Head’s Aprihop. This is a good beer.

High Water's Old and in the Way (Healthy Spirits) - Compared to the normal version of the beer, the Bourbon comes through much stronger here. Unfortunately, this version is also quite a bit less carbonated. On the positive side, it is still a wonderful beer that is both different than the original and still very tasty. The barrel characteristics come though a bit more on this one, but the balance is still very good since the base beer is fairly strong to begin with.
