Ba tik is a wax resist dyeing technique in fabric. It is an ancient art form whose origin is mostly from around Indonesia and Malaysia.
Antique French Georgian Purse - cord was made on a Lucet, or chain fork. This has been used since the the Viking period for ornamenting church vestments, later used for adorning heraldic and Tudor costumes. The craft was still in use at the end of the 18th Century when the Lucet tool could be found made from ivory, tortoiseshell mother of pearl or Gold.
