Christian Haettich has one arm and one leg. Over 22 days this summer he cycled across the Dolomites, the Alps and the Pyrenees to become one of only 10 finishers of a gruelling three-week amateur cycling event.
The Veterans Health Administration is partnered with the U.S. Olympics Committee that provides grants and monthly allowance to participating veterans who play a sport. There are many sports, varying from surfing, sailing, kayaking, track and field, basketball and more. There are different seasonal camps that provide rehab and psychological aid for veterans who acquired a disability as service-related or non-service-related.
