lonequixote: Water Lilies, 1908 ~ Claude Monet

Water by Claude Oscar Monet. Painting analysis, large resolution images, user comments, slideshow and much more.

One of Claude Monet's most famous series of paintings were his serene water lilies. While living in Giverny, Monet lovingly cultivated water lily ponds, in addition to many other flower blossoms on the property which appear in so many of his impressionistic works. This small town in Normandy was his favorite place in the French countryside. As he spent his last years there he produced approximately 250 water lily paintings.
