Austral canastero (Asthenes anthoides)  is an uncommon Canastero of shrubby Patagonian Steppes from Tierra del Fuego north to Neuquen in Argentina and associated areas in Chile.  This male was photographed  in the grounds of Estancia La Angostura, off the A29 in Santa  Cruz Norte, Patagonia and close to Meseta del Strobel.

The brown sicklebill is a species of bird-of-paradise. It is distributed to mountain forests of New Guinea and its diet consists mainly of fruits, arthropods and small animals. This bird was discovered by Carl Hunstein in 1884 and named after Adolf Bernard Meyer of Dresden Museum, Germany.
