A game for 2 or 3 players. Each player chooses a color pencil they will use in the game. Players take turns rolling the dice, using the numbers that they rolled to draw the perimeter of a rectangle or square writing the area in the middle of the shape. Game ends when players run out of room to draw. Winner is the player who has used the largest area/most squares.

Math tips:  Looks like a great way to visualize fractions!!  I work with students of all ages who do not really grasp the concept of fractions.  Help your child make one of these charts and post it on the wall in his or her room.  Discuss it often and how fractions apply to everyday life.  The chart will help connect the concept to a picture which helps a lot when learning to understand a new or difficult concept!

Math - the students cut the pieces and put them on top of each other to stress equivalent fractions. Teaching with fraction strips I actually learned this in my Math Methods class!
