Mother Nature, watercolor and ink, Heather Taylor Zimmerman

"A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform." ~ Diane Mariechild (Mother Nature, mandala style watercolor and ink by Heather Taylor Zimmerman)

By an indigenous Cuzqueño painter, ca. 1680, Virgin of the Rosary of Guápulo, oil on canvas, Peruvian (Cuzco). Dressing and embellishing sacred images is a tradition that corresponded to the Precolumbian Andean. There is a linkage between the Virgin and the indigenous earth-mother goddess Pachamama.

Our Lady of Medjugorje, Queen of Peace. This painting is said to have the greatest resemblance to how the Holy Mother has appeared to the six visionaries. Since the first apparition in June 1981, she has continued to appear daily. I was very blessed to visit Medjugorje in 1990.
