Carl Lewis, American former track and field athlete, actor, & UN Goodwill Ambassador. He won 10 Olympic medals (9 gold) & 10 World Championships medals (8 gold). His career spanned from 1979, when he first achieved a world ranking, to 1996 when he last won an Olympic title & subsequently retired. He has been voted Sportsman of the Century by the International Olympic Committee, named Athlete of the Year 3x by Track & Field News, & called Olympian of the Century by Sports Illustrated.
