Back to Smithfield Market where their locks could do with some attention and a fresh lick of paint wouldn't go amiss either. I like the textures in this shot especially on the peeling paint and the broken lock, although I wish the left side of the image wasn't so soft. But that's the price you pay, taking photos at lunchtime after two coffees at Starbucks. Camera shake is never far away!! Chubb, by the way, is the maker of the lock. Their history goes back a couple of hundred years or more…
The emission nebula known as IC 417. Informally known as the Spider Nebula, IC 417 lies around 10,000 light-years from us in the constellation Auriga. It is in the outer part of our Milky Way Galaxy. This infrared image shows that it's energized by hot, massive blue stars. A cluster of young stars called ‘Stock 8’ can be seen at center; the light from this cluster carves out a bowl in the nearby dust clouds, seen here as green fluff. Credit: NASA / JPL-Caltech / 2MASS

The Monkey Nebula, NGC2174 is a cloud of gas and dust that surrounds the star cluster NGC2175. The colors in this image may look like brush strokes of paint but actually represent specific wavelengths of infrared light. Particles of interstellar dust are warmed by the star cluster in the center of the nebula, which WISE (NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer) represents by the colors green and red. The blue and cyan stars scattered throughout the image are hot compared to the dust.
