Raimondi Monolith; a ceiling relief from Chavín de Huántar (Ancash, Peru) (an important religious & political center of the Chavín culture; c. 1000-600 BC; Diorite; Height 6'6"; named after its discover (1874); Andean carvings don't generally show full human figures, but encase human elements & animal parts in complex patterns. This figure, holding two scepters, has a towering headdress made of masks.
