Taken from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island. Shortly after this photo the gale that was blowing knocked my tripod over. As far as I know the camera is working fine. [declutr] Took a drive to the Olympic Peninsula last weekend - perhaps my most favorite place on Earth. I haven't felt the urge to use my camera in a while - but this place was particularly enchanting. Just before sunset, it started drizzling - but I still managed to snap a coupla shots here. Glad I did.

The Blue Ridge Parkway celebrates its 75th anniversary this year (2010). Construction began near Cumberland Knob near the state lines of North Carolina and Virginia in 1935 on the 469-mile road that would connect Shenandoah National Park with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park through the spine of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Taken shortly after sunrise on Cadillac Mountain on Mt. Desert Island in Acadia National Park. Not a very good photo as such but the the light was wonderful and definitely made up for the cold morning.
