Lou Henry Hoover (March 29, 1874 – January 7, 1944) was the wife of President of the United States Herbert Hoover and First Lady, 1929-1933. Marrying her engineer husband in 1899, she travelled widely with him and became a cultivated scholar and linguist. During World War I, Mrs. Hoover helped him in providing relief for Belgian refugees.

Alice Hathaway Lee Roosevelt - was the first wife of Theodore Roosevelt. She was stirkingly beautiful, with a cheerful disposition so that she was called "Sunshine" by her friends & family. They married in 1880. She died just 2 days after giving birth to thier 1st child, Alice. Her husband was so distraught (he also lost his 49 yr old mother the same day, that he never spoke of it again.
