Madewood Plantation is truly a treasure among Louisiana plantation homes. Located near the banks of Bayou Lafourche in Napoleonville, LA. Madewood is a huge Greek Revival mansion made from wood harvested on the property, which is why it was named “Madewood”. Madewood was built in 1846 by Col. Thomas Pugh, a wealthy sugar cane planter.
