Don't Spend Money On An Arduino - Build Your Own For Much Less
I love my Arduinos. At any point, I have quite a few projects on the go - prototyping is just so easy with them. But sometimes, I want to keep the project functional without buying another Arduino. Spending $30 each time for a fairly simple microcontroller than I only need some of the functionality for is just silly. It's at that point that building an Arduino clone becomes a viable option.

Arduino Attiny Programming Shield
Arduino Attiny Programming Shield: An Attiny is a great alternative to the atmega328, it is for those projects that need few GPIO pins and need to be portable. But unlike the atmgea328 the attiny cannot plug into an Arduino board and be programmed. Another way would be to use a bread…
SquareWear - open-source microcontroller board. "SquareWear is primarily used for wearable electronics projects, such as reading sensors, controlling LEDs sewed onto fabrics, and sending data to a computer through its USB port. It is low-cost and particularly suitable for beginners of wearable electronic projects or school workshops." Cool!
Make Your Own Pocketable Arduino Kit
Arduino's are already pretty small, but they're still not conducive to travelling. Instructables user sath02 wanted to take his electronics tinkering on the road with him, so he built a pocket sized Arduino kit.

FISHINO: Arduino becomes wireless - Open Electronics
Why “Fishino” ? The names comes to a joke made on April Fools’ Day (in Italian “Pesce d’Aprile“, and ‘Pesce‘, which sounds ‘pashe’ means Fish) made on an Arduino forum where we “presented” a new board named “Fishino Zero” which had revolutionary technical specs. The symbol, placed on board’s picture with a graphical editor, […]

Convert Arduino FIO to Run Off USB Only
Convert Arduino FIO to Run Off USB Only: I have a project where I'll be using an XBee RN-XV and chose the Arduino FIO as the host for it due to it being small and low power and having an XBee header built in. My intention was to run it off of USB power and not have a battery. I…
