STEM students, along with STEM Program faculty and staff members, take part in a team building exercise during a Summer Bridge Program event.
To help students establish a strong foundation in math and science, students are mentored by college faculty and student peers in a supportive and engaging setting. The program runs Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a two-hour math course, collaborative study time, and hands-on activities.
The Kapi‘olani Community College STEM Summer Bridge Program brings together high school students, college student peer mentors, and college faculty to help students prepare for the rigors of college math and science. The program runs Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a two-hour math preparation class and an hour of collaborative study. Each afternoon, students work on a STEM project, such the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) “Sea Perch” underwater robot.
