Playing with monoprints
In my studio last month I explored printing with some plants from my garden - a perennial silver bush (unable to be identified) and the flower heads from my Italian Parsley. It wasn't a complex printing session, but just a relaxing exploration of a couple of plants I wanted to try before I did some garden trimming. Winter / Storm, SET of original woodblock prints
This set of 15 x 30 inch panels pictures a winter birch forest. They were hand burnished in my home studio. This means that no printing press was used. I hand pressed the ink into the paper. The color reduction method was used to make this very small edition. Six sets of prints were made. Two blocks of wood were carved and inked many times until the prints were finished.
