The thing about sweets that makes them so great for gifting is that it doesn’t matter if you know the recipient well or not — simply put, there are few people out there who wouldn’t love to receive a gourmet chocolate bar or a cookie sampler, even if everyone does have their preferred flavors. Really, all you have to keep in mind are your giftee’s food allergies — perhaps they have a gluten intolerance or they can’t eat nuts.
