My mom’s appe or panniyaram’s are so good that as a kid whenever I took it to school in my lunchbox, my friends used to finish them before me.   We still have them often for breakfast or a quick evening snack and they’re so good.   This is my mom’s way of making it and may not be how it’s traditionally made.  All you need is : - 1/2 cup poha.  - 1/4th cup Besan.  - 1 cup sooji.  - 1/2 cup Dahi.  - 1 cup water (in parts and approx).  - Some fresh coriander leaves.  - Salt to taste.  - 1 tsp ginger green chilli paste.  - Veggies of choice (tomato, onion, capsicum, etc, all finely chopped).  - Water as needed.  - A pinch of baking soda (optional) with 1 tsp water.  - Oil as needed to grease pan.
