Pottery by Irene - i23n3. on Instagram: "Assemble a teapot with me! 🫖💕☺️

🫖 I love teapots, but I found this form to be intimidating at first because of all the different parts involved. But after overcoming the initial uncertainty of doing something the first time, I found making teapots to be the perfect balance of wheel throwing and hand building. It’s both rewarding and meditative. 💕

This is my first time learning how to make a “proper” teapot. Thinking back, I did attempt the form a few times but usually with short cuts because I didn’t know how to make the individual parts. It’s been so fun to see the whole thing come together! ❤️

More to come!

They can be tricky at first, knowing how much clay you’ll need to make it the size you want and still close the top up. Also not pushing it too far that it concaves when making the nobby bit. Idk you saw but I did a really cool move where I held one tool against the inside lid lip and used another tool to press down on the lid. If it hadn’t been sped up you could see the nervous sweat drip Closed Form Pottery, Throwing Clay, Wheel Throwing, Backyard Birds, Pottery Wheel, Process Art, Ceramic Artists, Clay Art, Ceramic Art
