I love making EPP hexies. It's mindless work for when I want to occupy my hands but don't want to think about what I'm doing. They are a great portable project for on the road work. I finished the rainbow hexagon quilt a week or so ago. You can read more about piecing this quilt here and here. It was quilted by my LQS. Kim made a template using the Hex-N-More ruler, so the quilting inside the hexagon would match exactly. She quilted 1/4" from the seam around the inside of each hexagon shape, and then quilted on the lines she had marked from the hexagon template. (I think the template was approximately a 3" hexagon.) So I finally finished piecing the rainbow stars and text print quilt top. Actually, it was done at Christmas but I didn't have a chance to photo it....it measures 48" x 54". It will be a wall hanging in my classroom as soon as I quilt it... And an up-close shot...The text prints were purchased mostly from my LQS Quiltique and some from online shops--Etsy, most likely. The diamonds and hexagons are all 2"--purchased from PaperPieces.com And the next one, an in-progress quilt top...all 2"…

No idea of the total now; I've added almost two more whole rows around. Nice picture taken in the sun, instead of a dark hotel room. :)

Jackie and I had a great day trip to see Carmen who reaches felting. We layered and soaked and rolled and bashed And then did more of each and ended up with a pot and a bag each And also ended up with lovely soft hands! That's from the soap and the lanolin (?) in the wool. When we came back to Jackie's we make scissor keepers (I need to get a photos of Jackie's too) and worked on our EPP hexies: Jackie's And mine And may have chatted a bit too!
