I found this vintage illustration of gemstones in a 1941 Merriam Webster Dictionary for Boys and Girls. I scanned it at a high resolution and sized it to 8.5 by 11 inches so you can print it out on your printer. I highlighted a section so you can see the details of the stones, which are quite charming as they were hand drawn and colored, not photographed.
