Construction of a Japanese-funded pedestrian walkway over Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in Da Nang City began Sunday.

In the old days, the small "Zhuxi" river in Tainan’s Southern District was also known as "Moonviewing Creek”, thus lending the newly completed Yuejian-Bridge its name. The "Moon-Viewing Bridge” (Yuejian-Bridge) is part of the overall landscape improvement plan around the Zhuxi Basin in the Southern district. This project also includes the Zhuxi sewage interception, water purification as well as complete landscape reconstruction and renaturation on both sides of the bank.

The new bike and pedestrian Park bridge, designed by Ney & Partners, had known intense usage since its opening in 2017. On the eastern side of the Spoor Noord park, a ramp gave a comfortable access for cyclists from the park to the bridge. On the western side cyclists had to use a staircase with a bicycle conveyor belt or a lift. Ney & Partners were commissioned in 2017 to design a bike-friendly and safe solution to access the western side.

the 24-meter-wide bridge features a low-curve design that aims to add value to its surroundings by fostering social activities.

Selected by the Zhujiajiao Municipality, the Dawn Bridge is the winning entry for the competition as it responds to the constraint of building the shortest bridge with an accommodating slope, and yet it is pedestrian-friendly.
