The Intrepid Chatelaine on Instagram: "The Best French Floor Care Hack from only 3 natural ingredients to get château-chic floors!🌱🛠️
This French traditional floor-care hack has certainly stood the test of time and is a great method to nourish and protect untreated wooden floors.
I was shocked at how expensive modern floor-care synthetic products are and for many square metres of oak parquet in our home @chateaudebourneau , we would require huge volumes and we didn’t want to spend 100s of euros so this method is great: It’s cheap, natural, anti-insect, easily topped up (so no scuffed varnish problems) and the result is beautiful. Tung oil on wood floors | a review 2 years later - NewlyWoodwards Wood Projects Decor, Old Wood Furniture, Butcher Block Ideas, Diy Floors, Old Wood Projects, Pine Wood Flooring, Refinish Wood Floors, Pine Flooring, Flooring Diy

You may or may not remember that we took a different route when finishing our wood floors in our home. Instead of installing pre-finished floors or using polyurethane, we chose to finish unfinished yellow pine with pure tung oil. And in the two years we've been living with these floors, we have received hundreds of questions about how they are holding up. I guess we aren't the only ones who are interested in this beautiful, natural, nontoxic finish.
