{Treasure from a FAR LAND }:Last night I went to visit a friend of mine that has just returned from a six week long holiday to Mexico and Guatemala. It was great to hear some story telling from her journey through these two beautiful countries, and I was even more fascinated when she showed me what she brought back........ ...it was love at first sight!!! I was struck by the colours of these lovely handwoven textiles! The textiles are handwoven by Maya Indians of Guatemala

In Mayan communities, weaving is used to pass stories through the generations. This weaving is from the region of Quiche, in the Western highlands. The pattern shows local birds, which represent lovers. #mayanculture #weaving #guatemala
