Hathor had wide varieties of roles. She was a goddess of women, sky goddess, patrones of music, love and fertility and as the Eye of Ra, a solar deity. She was the daughter of Ra and wife to Horus, given that her name litterarly means 'the house of Horus'. She was most comonly shown as a beautiful woman, wearing the red solar disk between a pair of cow's horns.
