Glass fusion landscapes

Jeanette Cook is a Kent based contemporary artist specialising in kiln fused glass, sculpture, jewellery and works on paper.

This fused glass landscape art depicts a tree and water scene. I just love making fused glass trees. The clear stands shown in some of the photos come with the art. If you scroll through the photos you will see that this glass landscape changes somewhat, depending on the dominant source of light. At times the sky is all blue, at times there is a hint of lavender there. Displaying this piece on a shelf or windowsill instead of flat against a wall allows light to enter from behind. Some…

I use glass powders and frit a lot in my fused glass panels, but this one is made up from sheet glass (Bullseye). I've used sea blue, aqua, light turquoise, midnight and streaky white glass, all lovely co-ordinating shades.
