~DIY carpet cleaner for machines~ I just made a gallon of this carpet cleaner. Add 1/4 cup vinegar, 4 tbsp dish soap, 4 tbsp softener and 1/4 cup peroxide in a measuring cup. Stir it. Then add it to an almost full gallon of warm water. Then slowly add warm water to top it off. Gently shake the jug to mix, avoid suds and bubbles. Add to the cleaning compartment like you would normal cleaning solution. I made it for pennies. It worked great on my carpets and smells good too.
Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hunchliffe, of Essex, has revealed her trick for lifting dust, hair and lint off the carpet that the vacuum cleaner leaves behind - and all it involves is a 99p glass cleaner.
This recipe works and the stains stay away! Make sure you vacuum your carpet first. Use1/4 cup of borax, 1/4 cup of vinegar, 1/4 cup of salt. Mix to a paste, put on stain. Let stand for about 15-20 minutes or if a deep settled stain let it stay on there for an hr or longer. Rent steam cleaner, or I used my rainbow steam cleaner. Put hot hot hot water and 1 cup of vinegar in water mix together and placed in steam cleaner. Sprayed water on stains and then let steam cleaner suck up the stain!
