I had a few little patch tests on these window panes for at least 2 months before I decided to take the plunge and go dark. The conservatory in our house is such a beautiful feature, however the white paint was very tired and needed some serious TLC, so it was a choice between a fresh coat of white, a pale grey tone or a significant leap to black where the change would be difficult to reverse. I wanted them to resemble bakery style doors so I stained & distressed them & added vintage rolling pins for handles! They have been much loved over the years & have been the most talked about feature in our home! It seems a lot of you love the rustic & unique look! But as time goes by my tastes have change & I wanted a cleaner & more modern look so I decided to give them a little makeover! I started by removing the top 2 panels to create windows, sanded & filled before painting with @farrowandball in the colour Dropcloth! For the frosted windows, I measured the open spaces & got some Perspex cut to size @cutmy.uk This was soooo much easier than cutting them myself!
