African sunset

The Umbrella Thorn Acacia Tree is an icon of the Serengeti plains. In the early morning light they reach their twisting limbs out welcoming in the new day. A favorite food of a lot of the grazing animals, it's wood was also used for the arc of the covenant. A truly multi-purpose tree! This morning we waited patiently, finding a spot to position to capture the rising sun. Adjusting a few times we were able to capture this moment.

The sunset looked like it was going to be a good one this evening so I decided to try and find a decent spot to shoot it, (out on a whim - so unprepared, again..) I ended up getting lost and finished up in Rainford, Merseyside, with no sign of anything much worthwhile... upon coming out onto the dual carriageway heading back to St Helens, I spotted this lone tree situated off the opposite carriageway and after a bit of U- turn action, and 'creative' parking I ended up in the only place I had…
