When I first introduce this exercise in my classes I start my students⬇️

1️⃣Head, neck and chest down 
2️⃣Head, neck and chest up 
3️⃣Head, neck and chest up and extend the legs 
4️⃣Head, neck and chest up, legs extended and add a variation 

A very common mistake I see when I have new students is that they initiate the lift of the upper body with their head. Instead lift with the upper abdominals and reach though the straps. 

Don’t forget the arm circles‼️

Christie Wang on Instagram: "Let’s chat about Classical v Contemporary Pilates v whatever else is out there (Lagree, Fusion Pilates, etc)   Classical Pilates is the real deal, staying true to the method Pilates as developed by the founder Joseph Pilates. Classical teachers are comprehensively trained across all apparatus and typically have to complete at least 600 hours of training. During a private session, you can expect your teacher to utilize the entire studio as a system.   The focus on transitions is a major difference. We treat transitions between exercises as an exercise and care about how you change springs and get up and down onto the reformer. It can seem super detail oriented at first but builds a strong foundation for great flow when you reach an advanced practice.
