In Photoshop CC, you can isolate active layers by going to the filter drop-down menu in the upper left side of the layer's panel, and choosing "Active". This will temporarily hide the layers that are not selected from the Layer's panel, but they will remain visible in the document your working on. To release one layer from the isolated layers, right click (Mac: Command-click) on the layer and choose "Release From Isolation".
